apple-imac-computer-sideIvanExpert offers a number of standardized packages for the PC-to-Mac services we frequently perform. All packages can be customized to your specific needs. You may need to purchase additional hardware or software for each package; ask us for guidance.

 

 

PC to Mac Switcher Package

Are you buying your first Mac, after many years on the PC, and need help transferring all your files? If so, this package is for you. It includes:

  • Connecting Mac to the existing internet service
  • Applying all system software updates on new Mac
  • Transferring all documents from the PC to the Mac, including Excel docs, Word docs, and PDFs, and putting them in proper locations on the Mac in the Documents folder and other folders. Does not include conversion of incompatible file formats (eg Quicken); contact us for a quote.
  • Transferring all photos from the PC to the Mac, and importing all photos into the iPhoto library for ready-to-go photo management
  • Transferring all music files from the PC to the Mac, and importing all music into the iTunes library for ready-to-go music management and playing
  • Installation of printer software driver and setup of printing from Mac to one printer 
  • Installation of Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac (which includes Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Entourage), and applying all updates
  • Setup of one email for incoming and outgoing mail, using existing email address, in Entourage or Apple Mail
  • Import of contacts from Outlook, Outlook Express, Gmail, or an Excel spreadsheet to Entourage or Apple Mail

 


Windows Migration Package

This package allows you to run Windows software on the Mac, by transferring your existing Windows applications and files onto your Mac. It is available for properly functioning PCs only. It includes:

  • Installation of Parallels Desktop software on the Mac (requires you provide or purchase Parallels Desktop)
  • Snapshot transfer of existing Windows environment from PC to Mac
  • Optimization of Windows environment
  • Installation of AVG virus protection software
  • Testing of Outlook email software and data, for referencing old mail as necessary
  • Disabling Outlook for sending and receiving new mail
  • Testing of Quicken software and data

 

 

Windows Clean Install Package
The Windows Clean Install Package gives you a fresh install of Windows on your Mac. It's recommended instead of the Windows Migration Package if your PC is non-functional or operating at a crawl. It includes:

  • Installation of Parallels Desktop software on the Mac (requires you provide or purchase Parallels Desktop)
  • Fresh installation of Windows (requires you provide or purchase Windows XP, Vista, or 7 install disk)
  • Installation of AVG virus protection software
  • Fresh installation of Office for Windows (requires you provide or purchase Office install disk), transfer of Outlook database from PC to Parallels environment on the Mac, and testing of software and data
  • Fresh installation of Quicken for Windows (requires you provide or purchase Quicken install disk), transfer of Quicken data from PC to Parallels environment on the Mac, and testing of software and data
